We have prepared this Privacy Policy for Tracker with reference to applicable Chinese laws and regulations, including the Cybersecurity Law and rules on necessary personal information for common types of mobile apps, and to the national standard GB/T 35273-2020. It explains what personal information we process, why and how we process it, how we protect it, and how you can exercise your rights.
The entity responsible for processing personal information for this app is Guangzhou Jiacheng Information Technology Co., Ltd. You can contact us at majianning@jiacheng.center.
※What information each feature needs, why it is used, and what happens if you do not provide it.
※Which third-party services process information and what device permissions the app may request.
※How we share, retain and protect your information, and how you can exercise your rights.
Please read this policy before registering, logging in or using the service.
※Tracker provides phone-number login, messaging with friends, location sharing, location alerts and the “Nearby” feature. The information needed for each feature is explained below. Accepting this policy does not mean that you agree to every optional use of personal information. The app requests device permissions as required by the operating system.
※After you log in, the app requests location permission. If you grant it, your location may be updated while the app is running or in the background for location sharing and region entry or exit alerts. Device permissions are not enabled by default and can be changed in Settings. Disabling a permission may make the related feature unavailable. Processing sensitive personal information, including location data, is also subject to applicable separate-consent requirements; a device permission does not provide blanket consent for other uses.
※You can decide whether to provide optional information or device permissions when using a feature. Declining a particular use or permission may affect features that depend on it; other features remain available.
1. Collection and use of personal information(1) Features and the information they require
1. Registration and login
Information required for this feature
When you register or log in, we process your mobile phone number. You can enter your number and receive an SMS verification code, or choose one-tap login using the number associated with your device. A phone number is required to register or log in.
Third-party services used
One-tap login uses the Alibaba Cloud Number Verification SDK. If you choose SMS verification instead, our server sends the receiving phone number to Tencent Cloud SMS to deliver the code. See the Alibaba Cloud Number Verification guide and Tencent Cloud SMS service information.
2. Push notifications
Information required for this feature
When you enable push notifications, we may send chat messages and location alerts to your device.
For notifications, the app processes network information, device model, operating system version and a device push token. The push token is stored with LeanCloud so that notifications can be delivered to your device. You can turn off notifications in device Settings; you will then stop receiving the related system notifications.
Device permissions
Push notifications require your device's notification permission. If you decline it, the app cannot send system notifications to your device.
Third-party services used
Chat messages and location alerts are sent through LeanCloud instant messaging and delivered to your device using Apple's push notification service. See the LeanCloud SDK Privacy Policy.
3. Messaging
Information required for this feature
Messaging uses network information, your device model and operating-system version. This information is needed to provide messaging.
To add and manage friends, we process your account identifier, your friends' account identifiers and your friend relationships. These details are needed to establish those connections. If a friend adds a profile picture, nickname, gender or profile text, the app also processes and displays the details they provide; those profile details are not required to add a friend or send text messages.
When you chat with friends, the app processes chat records, including text and voice messages, to provide messaging.
You may choose whether to add a profile picture, nickname, gender or profile text to your account. These details are optional for messaging; you can still send text messages without them.
Device permissions
Sending a voice message requires microphone permission. If you decline it, you can still send text messages.
Third-party services used
Instant messaging uses the LeanCloud SDK. Account identifiers, friend relationships, and message content needed for chats are processed through this service. See the LeanCloud SDK Privacy Policy.
4. Location sharing
Information required for this feature
After you log in, the app requests location permission. If you grant it, we process your location and update location-sharing data through LeanCloud. When the app enters the background, it also attempts to monitor significant location changes and update your location. If you deny or disable location permission, location sharing and related features will not work normally.
Device permissions
Location sharing requires device location permission. You can manage this app's location access, including background access, in iPhone Settings. Turning it off prevents new location data from being obtained through that permission, but does not automatically delete data stored earlier.
5. Region monitoring
Information required for this feature
Region monitoring uses your location and the monitored regions you set. When the conditions are met, an entry or exit alert may be sent to the relevant user. If you deny or disable location permission, region monitoring and its alerts will not work normally.
Device permissions
Region monitoring depends on device location permission. If you grant the required system permission, location changes may also be processed while the app is in the background.
6. Nearby
When you use Nearby, the app uses your stored location to find nearby users and shows their profile picture, nickname, gender, profile text and approximate distance from you. The search result sends nearby users' stored latitude and longitude to the searching user's app to calculate distance on the device; the screen shows an approximate distance. While your account is visible in Nearby, your profile details and coordinates may be sent to the apps of people who are not your friends, even if you have not opened the Nearby screen. To stop appearing in nearby results, go to Me > Nearby > the menu in the upper right and turn on “Hide from people nearby”. Hiding your profile does not automatically delete location or profile information stored earlier.
How location information may affect you: Friends or people who use Nearby and are not your friends may use relevant location data to learn where you were when your location was last updated and infer places you visit or patterns in your movements. Misuse of this information could affect your privacy or personal safety. Choose carefully whom you share your location with. You can disable this app's location permission in iPhone Settings and hide your profile from Nearby using the steps above.
7. Profile pictures, maps and subscription verification
When you choose a profile picture, the app uses the system photo picker to read the image you selected, processes it and uploads it to Alibaba Cloud OSS. Address lookup, place search and region selection in the app use Apple Maps services to process location, map area or search terms; see Apple Maps & Privacy. When you buy or restore a subscription, and when the app connects after launch or reconnects to the network and a new verification is due and a receipt exists on the device, it sends the App Store purchase receipt and app identifier to our server to confirm subscription benefits.
The app uses Apple App Attest to verify requests sent to our server. For this purpose, it generates and sends an app-instance key identifier, attestation data, challenge information and app identifier to our server to verify the request source and maintain a verification session.
When you use Send Feedback, the app sends your feedback, an optional contact email, a feedback reference, interface language, app version and submission time to our feedback service to handle your report and contact you if you provided an email address.
(2) Third-party SDKs and APIs
We use the following third-party services for login, messaging, notifications, profile pictures, maps, subscription verification and feedback. Each service processes information differently. When a device permission is needed, the app requests it as required for the relevant feature. We require service providers to handle information in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
These services include:
(1) Alibaba Cloud Number Verification SDK (Alibaba Cloud Computing (Beijing) Co., Ltd.): initialized when the app's main screen loads. When the app starts one-tap login and calls the number prefetch or authentication-token interfaces, it may process network type, IP address, device information, SIM status and carrier type to verify the number associated with your device. The SDK integrates number verification services from China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Their operators, data practices and privacy policy links are listed in the Number Verification Privacy Policy.
China Mobile's verification service is provided by 中移互联网有限公司 and may process network address, carrier type, the device's phone number, SIM status and device information; see the China Mobile verification privacy policy. China Unicom's service is provided by 中国联合网络通信集团有限公司 and may process network address, carrier type, the device's phone number and device information; see the China Unicom verification privacy policy. China Telecom's service is provided by 天翼数字生活科技有限公司 and may process the device's phone number, network status and device information; its privacy policy link is listed in the Alibaba Cloud Number Verification policy above.
(2) Tencent Cloud SMS (Tencent Cloud Computing (Beijing) Co., Ltd.): when you choose SMS verification, our server submits the receiving phone number to Tencent Cloud to send the code. See the Tencent Cloud SMS Privacy Policy.
(3) LeanCloud SDK (Meiwei Shuqian (Shanghai) Information Technology Co., Ltd.): used for account profiles, friend relationships, location-sharing data, instant messaging, and message notifications. It processes the account identifiers, profile information, location information, friend relationships, and messages you provide when using those features. See the LeanCloud SDK Privacy Policy.
(4) Alibaba Cloud Object Storage (OSS) SDK (Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd.): processes and stores a profile picture when you upload one. According to its privacy policy, the iOS SDK may also process the device model and operating system information. See the OSS SDK Privacy Policy.
(5) Apple Maps services: used when you view a map, look up an address or search for places. They process relevant location, map area and search terms. See Apple Maps & Privacy.
(6) Apple App Store and push notification services: the App Store processes subscription purchases and provides receipts for our server to verify. Apple's push notification service works with LeanCloud to deliver notifications to your device. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
(7) Alibaba Cloud Table Store (Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd.): our feedback service uses Table Store to save the feedback you submit, an optional contact email, feedback reference, interface language, app version and submission time. See the Alibaba Cloud Legal Statement and Privacy Policy for information about its data practices.
(3) Device permissions
You can manage this app's location, notification and microphone permissions separately in iPhone Settings. A system permission may be used by multiple app features and cannot be granted separately for every feature within the app.
After login, the app requests location permission and, if notification authorization has not yet been decided, requests notification permission. It requests microphone permission when you send a voice message. Choosing a profile picture opens the system photo picker to read the picture you select. You can review or disable relevant permissions in device Settings; features that depend on them may then become unavailable.
Disabling a device permission prevents the app from obtaining new information through that permission. It does not automatically delete information collected earlier. You can make a request through the “Your rights” and “Contact us” sections of this policy.
(4) Aggregated and de-identified information
We may use aggregated service statistics to understand and improve our features. When sharing statistics externally, we use aggregate information that does not identify a specific person. De-identified information that can still identify a person remains protected as personal information under this policy.
2. Sharing, transfer and disclosure of personal information(1) Sharing
To provide the features described above, we provide necessary information to the relevant service providers listed in Section 1. Your location-sharing and chat information is shown to your friends. While your account is visible to nearby users, your profile picture, nickname, gender, profile text and approximate distance may also be shown to people who use Nearby and are not your friends; the latitude and longitude used to calculate distance are also sent to the searching user's app. Otherwise, we share personal information only in the following cases:
Sharing required by law: we may provide information when necessary to comply with legal obligations or lawful requests from competent authorities, or to handle litigation and disputes as permitted by law.
Sharing with your consent: we may share information with other parties after obtaining your explicit consent.
(2) Transfer
If we need to transfer personal information due to merger, division, dissolution or bankruptcy, we will inform you of the recipient's name and contact information. The receiving party will continue to perform this policy and other legal obligations. If the receiving party changes the original processing purpose or processing method, it will obtain your consent again.
(3) Public disclosure
We will publicly disclose your personal information only under the following circumstances:
(1)Based on your active choice and other separate consent, we may publicly disclose your personal information.
(2)Other circumstances in which public disclosure is expressly permitted or required by applicable law. Providing information to a competent authority under the law is different from disclosing it to the public. We will not publicly disclose your personal information merely because we determine that you have violated a rule.
3. Protecting personal informationWe take measures to protect personal information appropriate to the operation of this service.
(1) Technical measures
We will take technical and organizational measures appropriate to the personal information processed by this service and applicable law to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or loss.
No technical measure can eliminate every risk. If a third party improperly obtains personal information, our responsibility will be determined under applicable law and this policy.
(2) Internal rules
Internal arrangements: We will manage access permissions for internal systems according to business needs and continue to improve related procedures.
Other users and third parties: Sections 1 and 2 describe how and to what extent information is shown to other users. We will require relevant service providers to protect the personal information they process in accordance with applicable law.
(3) Incidents involving personal information
If personal information is leaked, altered or lost, we will take remedial measures as required by law. We will report to competent authorities and notify affected users of the incident, its possible impact and measures taken or planned where the law requires it.
If you become aware of a potential information-protection issue or incident involving this service, please contact us.
4. Your rights(1) Edit profile information
In the app, tap Me and then your profile picture to edit or supplement your profile information.
We may need to verify your identity before changing information used to identify your account.
(2) Access, copy and explanation
You can use the email address in Section 8 to request access to or a copy of your personal information, or an explanation of this policy and the related processing rules. We may need to verify your identity. We will handle your request as required by law and explain any refusal.
(3) Delete your account
In the app, you can tap “Me” and then “Delete Account” to clear some profile information and sign out. The cleared information may not be recoverable, so please back up anything you need first.
At present, the “Delete Account” action in the app clears some profile information and signs you out, but it does not automatically delete all account records and past chat messages. To request deletion of your account and associated information, contact us using the email address at the end of this policy. We will verify and process the request. Information that must be retained by law will be kept for the legally required period.
These steps may change as the service is updated. We will explain any revised procedure through an appropriate channel.
5. Personal information of minorsThis app is not specifically intended for minors. If you are under 18, ask your parent or guardian to read this policy and consent before you use the app, except where a person aged 16 or 17 earns their main living from their own work and is treated as having full civil capacity under applicable law.
Personal information of children under 14 is sensitive personal information. Processing it requires the consent of a parent or other guardian. Until that consent is obtained, a child under 14 should not register for or use the app. We process only the information needed for the account, messaging, location-sharing and notification features described in this policy. A parent or guardian may use the email address below to request access to, correction or deletion of the child's information, or to withdraw consent. After verifying the requester's identity, we will provide access or make corrections as requested and required by law. If consent is withdrawn, we will stop processing based on that consent and handle previously stored information as required by law. For deletion requests that meet the legal conditions, we will delete or anonymize the relevant information, subject to any legal retention requirements.
6. Data storage location and retentionThe services we use to store account profiles, chats, location-sharing data, and profile pictures are primarily deployed in China. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's push notification service, which is also subject to Apple's privacy practices.
We use LeanCloud to store account profiles, friend relationships, location-sharing data and chat information; it also processes device push tokens and related notification-delivery records. Profile pictures you upload are stored using Alibaba Cloud OSS. We retain this data while your account is active and the relevant feature still needs it. When you replace a profile picture, the app attempts to delete the old one. Our server processes purchase receipts, App Attest data and related verification records to confirm subscription benefits and request sources. Feedback and related details are stored through Alibaba Cloud Table Store to handle your report. We keep these records for the period needed for those purposes and delete or anonymize them when the purpose is complete and no legal retention requirement applies. Disabling a device permission, signing out or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete previously stored data.
You may request deletion of your account and associated information using the email address below. After verifying and processing your request, we will delete or anonymize account profiles, friend relationships, location-sharing data, chat information, profile pictures, push tokens, feedback information and verification records that are no longer needed. Records that must be kept by law will be retained solely for the required purpose until the legal period ends, then deleted or anonymized. If deletion is temporarily technically infeasible, processing will be limited to storage and necessary protection. The current in-app “Delete Account” action only clears some profile information and signs you out; you must use the email address to request further deletion. A service provider's log or backup retention period is not the automatic deletion period for this app's business data.
7. Updates to this policyWith the development of platform operation, this privacy policy will be updated from time to time. We will remind you of the update of relevant content by pushing, email, SMS and other appropriate methods on the app side. You can also visit our privacy policy page at any time to get the latest version.
For major changes (changes in the way we collect and use your personal information will lead to a substantial reduction in your rights or a substantial increase in your obligations), we will adopt a more significant way of notification.
Please read policy updates carefully. When a change to the processing purpose, method or information categories requires renewed consent, we will obtain it as required by applicable law. You may withdraw consent-based authorization by contacting us as described below; withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it. If you decline processing needed only for an optional feature, that feature may be unavailable; other features that do not depend on that information remain available.
8. Contact usFor questions, feedback, complaints or requests about this policy or your personal information, use the app's Send Feedback feature or email us:
Email: majianning@jiacheng.center
To verify and respond to your request, we may ask for proof of identity, valid contact details, a written request or relevant evidence. You may also contact the relevant authorities as permitted by law.
Appendix:Personal information: information recorded electronically or otherwise that can identify a person on its own or together with other information. Information addressed by this policy includes profile, account, network and location information.
Sensitive personal information is information that, if leaked or unlawfully used, could harm a person's dignity or personal or property safety. Information processed by this app may include location-related information such as movement history.
Location information: the location data processed by this app mainly includes coordinates received from iOS Location Services after you grant permission, and the approximate distances and region-entry or exit results calculated from those coordinates. IP addresses involved in network communication and phone-number verification are described in Section 1. iOS Location Services may use Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth and cell-tower information to determine a device's location; see Apple's Location Services & Privacy for its data practices.
Unless otherwise specified, the specific terms used in this privacy policy follow the above definitions.
